Mechanical Seal for Hayward KSE, K-Flo, Ondina, and Koral Pool Pumps - Part No. 500114150100
Genuine Hayward Mechanical Seal for KSE, K-Flo, and Kripsol Ondina Pumps
This mechanical seal is the pump's shaft seal.
It provides a seal between the pump housing, which is filled with water, and the electric motor.
A worn seal allows water to leak along the motor shaft, often beneath the pump.
Genuine Hayward part, manufacturer part number 500114150100 (former Kripsol line).
It fits Hayward KSE and K-Flo pumps.
It also fits Kripsol Ondina, Koral, Caribe, Epsilon, and Niger pumps.
The seal is supplied complete with its two rings (stationary and rotating).
Check the model on your pump’s nameplate before ordering.
Replacing the seal at the first sign of a leak protects the motor: water leaking onto the shaft damages the bearings.
Description
What is a mechanical seal used for?
A mechanical seal (shaft seal) prevents water from the pump from entering the motor.
It consists of two rings that rub against each other: a stationary ring in the housing and a ring that rotates with the shaft.
Over time, these surfaces wear down and the pump begins to leak.
Compatibility
Hayward Pumps
- KSE 33 M, KSE 50 M and T, KSE 75 M and T, KSE 100 M and T
- KSE 150 M and T, KSE 200 M and T, KSE 300 T
- K-Flo, single-phase and three-phase versions
Kripsol Pumps (former brand, acquired by Hayward)
- Ondina 33, 51, 71, and 300 (M and T)
- Koral, Caribe, Epsilon, and Niger
When should it be replaced?
- Water leak under the pump, at the connection to the motor
- Signs of limescale or rust on the motor shaft
- Whenever the bearings or impeller are replaced
ℹ️ Good to know: Both rings must always be replaced together.
Never reinstall the old stationary bearing with a new rotating bearing.
Installation
Turn off the power and close the valves before disassembling the pump.
Do not touch the friction surfaces with your fingers.
Moisten them with a little soapy water to make installation easier.
⭐ Tip from the team: Take advantage of the disassembly to also replace the housing gasket and the diffuser gasket.
A new gasket is inexpensive and will save you from having to disassemble the pump again a few weeks later.
