Description
How does diatomaceous earth work?
Diatomaceous earth is made of fossilized microalgae. Their skeletons are primarily composed of silica, a mineral that resembles tiny glass crystals.
Insects and mites become coated with the powder as they walk on it. The powder dries out their exoskeletons, causing them to die within a few hours. In cold or damp weather, this process may take one to two days.
According to Francodex, diatomaceous earth does not cause insects to develop resistance. The product is recommended for outdoor use, such as in a chicken coop.

- Shake the aerosol vigorously until you hear the ball rattling.
- Spray a thin layer onto the areas to be treated, paying special attention to nooks and crannies (perches, nests, crevices).
- After evaporation, a film of white powder remains: the product remains effective as long as this powder is present.

⭐ Tip from the team
Red mites hide during the day in the cracks of perches and nests. Clean the chicken coop first, then treat these hiding spots in particular.
